18K GOLD VERMEIL
We believe luxury should last — that’s why many of our pieces are made with 18k gold vermeil, a premium finish that offers the richness of real gold without the solid gold price tag. Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) isn’t just any gold plating — it’s held to strict industry standards.
To legally be called vermeil, a piece must:
925 sterling silver (never brass or steel)
2.5 microns of real gold (ours is 18 karats, known for its deep, warm hue)
This makes vermeil significantly more durable and luxurious than standard gold plating, which often uses a base metal like brass or zinc and may be coated with as little as 0.1 to 0.5 microns of gold — meaning it fades, tarnishes, and wears away much faster.
